Advance Search

Overview

EmpowerGPT provides an Advance Search feature designed to help you quickly discover the information you need across all your files and connected platforms. Built for precision and efficiency, Advance Search goes beyond basic keyword lookups by offering deeper indexing, multi-source retrieval, and powerful filtering options. This ensures you can locate the right information—no matter where it resides.

Key Capabilities

Search Across Multiple Sources

Advance Search allows you to perform a unified search that spans:

  • Files you have uploaded directly to EmpowerGPT

  • Documents connected through integrated platforms such as SharePoint, OneDrive, and others

This eliminates the need to manually navigate each source or repeat the same query across different platforms.

File Name & Content Search

Advance Search does more than just scan file names. It deeply indexes and searches the contents of your documents, enabling you to find:

  • Specific keywords

  • Sentences or phrases

  • Embedded data points

  • Information hidden inside lengthy or complex files

This is especially useful for large document repositories where information may be spread across multiple formats.

Source-Based Filters

To refine your search results, you can filter by where the documents reside. For example, you can limit results to:

  • Uploaded files

  • SharePoint documents

  • OneDrive files

This allows you to focus on the most relevant sources based on your workflow.

Type-Based Filters

Advance Search also supports filtering by the type of item. You may choose to display:

  • Workspaces

  • Collections

  • Folders

  • Documents

Within the Documents category, you can narrow results further by file format, such as:

  • PDF

  • Excel

  • Word

  • PowerPoint

  • Audio/Video files

These filters help you quickly pinpoint the exact type of content you need.

Example Use Case

You are preparing a report and need to reference the most recent financial summary. Instead of browsing through multiple folders manually, you can:

  1. Enter “financial summary” in Advance Search.

  2. Select filters to show Excel files only.

  3. Instantly locate the relevant document—whether it was uploaded directly or stored in connected Cloud Drive (SharePoint, OneDrive etc.)
